Womb Wisdom: Flowing Through the Four Seasons of Your Cycle

Welcome to Womb Wisdom

A book that has been integral in learning all about cycle syncing

Over the course of my life as a bleeding woman, I have been subject to all types of birth control. When I was in my late teen years, I was encouraged to use it by my family because absolutely no one wanted the threat of me having a teen pregnancy. which then extended into precaution of having an unplanned child in my 20s. Over time however, it turns out that I had very few romantic relationships and I nowhere near had as much sex that warranted me to be on long-term birth control for years and years at a time. Birth control was introduced under the fear of me being around men, of focusing too much on them, on feeling like I may just throw my life away for one if the appropriate guardrails were not put up. While BC has definitely done it’s job for me and I have no unplanned child that I have bought into this world (hallelujah), having an implant specifically had caused me to not have a period. This caused me to somewhat lose connection to myself and desire to explore this fear of men that I have adopted from what was taught to me along with my personal experiences. This void that long-term implant use bought me has encouraged me to remove it, re-welcome my cycle, study it, and let it be my guiding compass in living my life.

Although I would love to. become a mother one day, that wasn’t my main reason or getting my implant removed. I was simply tired- tired of overriding my natural rhythms, tired of depending on synthetic hormones, and tired of feeling disconnected from my own body. I also had a realization if I couldn’t see myself. having a child with someone, I probably shouldn’t be having sex with them anyway. My unpopular belief is that birth control gives way to hookup culture, making it easier to have sex with people you have no business having sex with. It’s a scam and I don’t want to engage in cheap physical exchanges anyways.

More importantly though, I started questioning what happens when we suppress something as sacred as a period. I believe our cycles were divinely designed. And I began to feel that all those years of being on birth control left me stagnant, uninspired, and out of alignment with the wisdom that lives within my womb.

When I told my doctor I wanted the implant removed, basically claiming to desire connection to my period again, she discouraged me- saying unless I was trying to get pregnant, there was no reason to have a period. That conversation solidified my decision even more. I knew I needed to reclaim my body and reconnect with myself on a deeper level. Society benefits when women are disconnected from themselves- and I was no longer okay with being numb to my own nature.

So I thad the implant removed and began my journey back to self. I started learning about cycle syncing and how to live in flow with my hormones. I began honoring my womb space- not just for future fertility, but as a sacred source of energy, creativity, and intuition. I committed to managing my cycle from a place of love, acceptance, and abundance.

And here’s what I learned: your menstrual cycle is more than a biological event- it’s a four-part rhythm that mirrors the season fo nature. Once you start living in alignment with these inner seasons, everything begins to shift because it just all makes sense.

Inner Wisdom: Menstrual Phase (Days 1-5)

Your cycle starts on Day 1 of your period and is known as your Winter. The days around the start of your period are when estrogen and progesterone drop to their lowest levels. This phase can be characterized by overwhelming fatigue, emotional vulnerability, anxiety, and an unsettled spirit. You might become alert to your period coming due to having a hard time with premenstrual symptoms, or when you start to feel a slight separation from the world, signifying how the process of bleeding pulls you into yourself.

What to Do In Your Winter

  • Set Boundaries- stake a claim in the ground for yourself and your needs, whatever they may be. If you feel permeable and vulnerable during your period, then ask yourself what can you do to care for yourself while you’re bleeding

  • Nourishing Activity-A nourishing activity means simply doing something that is solely for you. It can be something restorative, pleasurable, something shared with others or reserved for yourself. It can even look like carving out empty space just to sit with yourself

  • Get Your Rest- Not only is getting rest in your Winter considerate of your process of menstruating, but it allows you to build more energy for more outward seasons of your cycle such as the Spring and Summer.

  • Release what No Longer Serves You- Consider how you can clear out the old to make way for the new. Try free writing, a technique where you write continuously for a period of time in order to dump all your accumulated mental chatter and give yourself some headspace to make sense of it all.

  • Receive- When you make space and are present during your Winter, you find yourself gifted with insight clarity, and creative solutions to problems you have been sustaining. Learn to trust your instincts and the messages that come to you while. you are menstruating.

Think of your winter as your personal “New Moon” energy- a time to shed, reset, and plant new seeds for the cycle ahead.

Inner Spring — Follicular Phase (Days 6–13)

As you emerge from the hibernation of your winter, you enter Spring- a time of new beginnings, clarity, and creative energy. Oestrogen levels begin to rise steadily during this phase, thanks to the developing follicle in your ovaries. This hormones brings a natural lift in mood energy, and confidence. You might notice a renewed sense of optimism, motivation, and social interest. Life feels lighter. Possibilities feel exciting again. This is often when you feel like. you’re getting your groove back.

What to Do In Your Spring

  • Start New Projects- This is an ideal time for planning, brainstorming, and starting things you’ve ben putting off. Your mental clarity and motivation are naturally higher now.

  • Socialize & Collaborate- You’ll likely feel more extroverted and curious about connecting. Schedule coffee dates, collaborative meetings, or social outings during this time if it feels aligned.

  • Be Curious and Explore- When pathways and opportunities emerge, allow yourself the option to be curious and explore them. This is the time to try something different, experiment with a new approach in your relationships, a new hairstyle, or maybe form of exercise.

  • Move Your Body- Try more energizing workouts like dance, power yoga, or strength training. Your stamina increases during this time, and movement helps regulate rising hormones

  • Revisit Goals- Set intuitions and refine your vision for the month ahead. Your Spring is a great time to dream big and plan the action steps to get there.

Inner Summer — Ovulation Phase (Days 14–17)

Welcome to your Summer- the final hormonal push toward ovulation. Oestrogen reaches its peak, triggering the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and testosterone. This trio of hormones launches you into a state of flow, where you feel grounded, energized, and ready for anything. Theres a natural confidence and flexibility in how you move through the world- you radiate magnetism and charisma, often without even trying.

In the race to ovulation, your hormones want you to be laid and knocked up. However you don’t have to follow this biological call and instead, can harness this incredible surge of vitality for leadership, visibility, creation, and pleasure.

What to do In Your Summer

  • Be Invincible- During your summer is your superwoman window. Its the time to rock your stuff at work, impress your clients, and work through your to-do list with flying colors.

  • Be Productive- Tackle big goals, bold ideas, or creative projects that once felt intimidating. Your energy is high, and your brain is sharp- this is prime time for strategic planning, decision-making, and taking action. You’re not just dreaming but you’re getting shit done.

  • Expand- You can literally start to file yourself expand at this point. Maybe your self-esteem is rising and you may find yourself speaking up more, standing taller, and taking up more space. Go ahead sistren, let yourself be seen.

  • Connect + Communicate- Your estrogen wants you out there talking to people, making connections, which makes your inner summer an ideal time for sparking new relationships or deepening long-term connections. Schedule important conversations, go on a. date, or collaborate with someone who lights you up.

  • Indulge in Your Pleasure- Whether its a delicious meal, a great conv3ersation a new creative outlet, or a long orgasm- pleasure is your power source right now. Give yourself permission to enjoy what feels amazing without guilt. When you’re lit up, everything in your life flows better.

Inner Autumn — Luteal Phase (Days 18–28)

After ovulation, you might begin to feel a subtle- or sometimes dramatic- shift in your energy and mood. Estrogen levels begin to drop, and progesterone comes the dominant hormone in the second half of your cycle. The transition from Summer to Autumn can feel like an emotional dip or a pull inward. You may start to feel less social, more sensitive, or even irritable. Identifying the day you shift into Autumn can be a powerful step in building body literacy. When you track. your cycle, you can start to predict when your mood might wobble- and plan ahead to hold yourself with more care and intention.

What to Do in Your Autumn

  • Turn to Deep Thought + Focus- As you move into your Autumn, the outward energy of Spring and Summer begins to fade. You’ll likely feel your energy decline, and that’s okay. Use what’s left wisely and intuitionally. This is a time for deep work, introspection, and thoughtful creation- not pushing for more.

  • Review + Reflect- You gain the ability to zoom out and observe your life with new perspective. Like a bird’s-eye view, Autumn grants you what I Call helicopter vision. You can see the bigger picture of a project or recurring issue and approach it with clarity and discernment.

  • Decide- This is your truth-telling season. You may find clarity around things you’ve been mulling ov3er for weeks. Trust your gut response, especially if you’re feeling the urge to say “no”. Don’t talk yourself out of what you already know to be true. Autumn is a time to follow your instincts, not overanalyze them.

  • Edit + Organize- This season is your chance to examine, take stock of, and get rid of what isn’t working for you. That could apply to a work project, a relationship, or your wardrobe. It’s time to clean out your fridge or sort out your inbox

  • Speak Candidly- The key about this period is to trust your uncensored voice that gains momentum in your premenstrual cycle. What is this voice asking of you? Is it telling you to say no more often, to stop people-pleasing, or to stand up and draw some boundaries? This is not you being “too much”. This is your truth rising to the surface.

Closing Thoughts: Trust Your Inner Seasons

When I think back to how I Formed my thoughts about my period as a child, it wasn’t necessarily seen as a bad thing- but it was definitely something to be managed. What is wasn’t though, was something to be honored or harnessed as a source of wisdom and poor. No one taught me that my cyclical energy was a gift I could actually sync my life to.

Since removing my implant, reclaiming a relationship with my natural cycle has felt sacred. Even the idea that birth control- while necessary and empowering in so many ways- was also subtly blocking the natural rhythm of my body…t started to feel like more than just a medical decision. It felt like a spiritual block, a subconscious barrier to fully stepping into love, creativity, and my feline power. I began to realize that this little implant may have been capping the flow of my potential.

Now that I sync my life with my inner winter, spring, summer, and autumn, it feels like an upgrade in every sense of the word. Ic an plan ahead. I can ride the waves instead of getting knocked down by them. The low moments don’t hit as hard when I understand where they’re coming from. Im no longer just surviving my cycle- I’m living through it, with it, and because of it.

So what about you?

Whats your relationship to. your cycle these days?

Have you ever tried syncing your life to it?

What might shift for you if you began to trust your body’s natural rhythm?

The season live inside you. You don’t have to fight them- you just have to listen.
